When Nick made yesterday’s “Thank you for being a frond” image (for some reason?), it reminded me of the time I made this.

When Bea Arthur died in 2009, I started making this image in MS Paint of a cartoon bee with Bea Arthur’s face, and I was going to write “RIP” underneath the cartoon bee in a really cheesy font. Then midway through making the image, I got REALLY SAD that she had passed away. 

I didn’t know where all that grief came from, but suddenly I felt like a huge jerk, and I couldn’t bring myself to delete the image, nor post it anywhere. So, that image sat on my desktop for over a year. Just this little thumbnail of Bea Arthur with a bee’s body, with “beearthur.jpg” underneath it.

RIP Bea Arthur. Thank you for “Bea”-ing a friend.

Yes, you’re my best friend and yes, I spend a majority of my time with you, and yes we’re bitches to each other. But that doesn’t mean you have to be an asshole about literally every fucking thing I say. When I come to you with a problem and ask for your help, you’re not supposed to laugh in my face or call me dumb. You’re supposed to be by my side and help me through it. When I came to you about Jared, I was really torn. All you did was tell me to stop talking to him and then changed the subject. How the fuck is that supposed to help me.
